The configration of the program is handled by the Option Dialogue. Most of the default options need not be changed and can be left as they are. The ones that require attention at this stage are:
You need to decide what type of turnpoints to use. If you are flying power and operating out of registered
airfields then the ICAO turnpoints are probably most useful and should be selected. If you are gliding then
the BGA turnpoints will be best.
The filename field is only needed for BGA turnpoints which typically change year by year. If you have updated
the BGA turnpoint file, the new filename can be entered here.
The turnpoint file for the ICAO identifiers is fixed and cannot be changed.
By default, this will be set to Weston-on-the-Green (WOG) if BGA turnpoints are set, and Kidlington Airport (EGTK) if ICAO turnpoints are set. Set this to your home airfield. This will mark that airfield with a cross on the map and fill it in as the start and end points in the Task dialogue.
If you are going to be accessing the Internet on a corporate network then the chances are that you will be doing so through a proxy server. If this is the case then you need to set up the proxy details. For a complete description of what is required see here.
Because Notamview gets its data from the EAD Basic website it is necessary to register with EAD for access. The username and password may then be entered in the appropriate boxes in the Options dialogue.
